The Natural Areas Association and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History are proud to present the 34th Annual Natural Areas Conference to be held at the Cleveland Marriott at Key Center, October 9–12, 2007.
The theme of the Conference is Some Assembly Required: Preserving Nature in a Fragmented Landscape. It has been well established that ecosystem fragmentation has altered biodiversity and intrinsic processes that are key to the functioning of natural areas. One of the primary challenges for conservation organizations and agencies involves the selection, acquisition and subsequent management of fragments containing core ecosystems. The 2007 Natural Areas Conference, through plenary sessions, symposia, contributed oral and poster presentations, and field trips, will provide a forum to explore this theme as well as other topics that are relevant to ecosystem conservation, ranging from invasive species to fire ecology to global climate change.
Annual NAA Members' Meeting & Breakfast
All NAA members (if you receive the Natural Areas Journal, you're also a member!) are invited and encouraged to attend the annual Membership meeting. Meet fellow NAA members, learn more about the NAA and how it works, share your ideas, plus vote on your board and officers. A yummy complimentary continental breakfast will be served.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so don't miss the only NAA membershp meeting of the year!
