After a day of exhilarating field trips to some of Middle Tennessee's most wonderful natural areas, join us at the historic Ryman Auditorium, where the Grand Old Opry opened its doors in 1943. This Nashville landmark is said to have ghosts wondering the hall. Who knows, you might run into Minnie Pearl! Has Elvis really left the building? Hank Williams, Bill Monroe, Chet Atkins, Elvis, REM, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Tom Waitt, Van Morrison, Garrison Keillor, Wide Spread Panic, and Cold Play have all played here, and now it's your turn!
Join us for a night of good food, drink, music and flat out fun. It's a Natural Areas Revival in Music City after all. You can even record one of 13 favorite tunes in the mini Ryman recording studio. So bring your mojo, cause we have to see who will stand tall at the end of the night and take home the infamous prairie fire kit....which means at least a good shot of tequila for whoever wants to make a bid and support the Natural Areas Association.
We will auction off of our live and silent auction items. Do you have an item you would like to donate (see the silent auction webpage)? This is also a special gathering where we will honor those who have given a life time of commitment to natural areas preservation, and fully recognize their effort.
There is something for everybody, so ya'll come now...ya hear! And yes, for late night fun, Tootsies Orchard Lounge and the honky tonks on Lower Broadway are just across the alley.

A House of History Some of the artists that have performed at the Ryman The Ryman Chronology (1885-2004) |

The Ryman Auditorium first opened its doors in 1892 as a vision of Captain Thomas G. Ryman. With the coming of the Grand Ole Opry show in 1943, the Ryman found its identity as the Mother Church of Country Music. In 1974, the Opry moved to its current home by the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center and left the Ryman vacant. It was not until twenty years later in 1994 that the Ryman was restored to be the national showplace that it is today. Musicians ranging from Roy Acuff to James Brown and Patsy Cline to Sheryl Crow have performed on the Ryman stage, making it a historical as well as a current-day icon for people everywhere.
