Transportation

Air Transportation

Portland International Airport (PDX) is only 10 minutes from downtown Vancouver. The airport is served by more than 14 regional, national and international airlines. Several national car rental agencies operate out of the airport.

Airline Bargains

For airline travel, timing is everything. A recent scan of prices show some deals now, and other airlines will adjust rates several times in coming months. Consider using Mircrosoft’s Farecast system to keep on top of rates. Also, consider flying into or out of Seattle, 2.5 hours north of Portland, as part of your longer Pacific Northwest adventure.

PDX Cell Phone Waiting Area

The airport cell phone lot is located off of NE Airport Way and NE 82nd Avenue. As you approach the airport, signs will guide motorists to the waiting area. Access to the airport is a short 3-minute drive to the terminal. Motorists must stay with their vehicles at all times.

The waiting area—with capacity for up to 30 vehicles—provides a place where motorists can park for free for a maximum of 30 minutes, wait for a cell phone call from family or friends announcing their arrival, and then drive up to the airport terminal’s curbside passenger pick-up area.
